Johnson Industries new Permissible 72VDC Duster is MSHA approved, battery powered, and mobile. The heavy duty 15hp (derated to 5hp) motor and system electrical controls are both housed in explosion proof enclosures. The 72V battery pack is MSHA approved for use with permissible equipment, is made up of 36 2V industrial batteries in series, and is changeable. The dust box can hold 500+ lbs of rock dust to minimize reloading downtime. The motor turns the blower pulley by a static conducting belt. The blower pushes air into the dust box at about 12 psi. The air is distributed in the box which fluidizes the rock dust. Air and dust leave the box and can be blown directly into the air or through a hose for controlled coverage.
